CBS News: Missing Justice

The 6-part series investigates the death of Christy Woodenthigh, a woman who was run over by her boyfriend on the Northern Cheyenne reservation in 2020. The investigation not only sheds light on how the BIA, the federal agents that oversee the reservation, failed Christy but it also reinforces the systemic issues that are creating a national crisis of missing and murdered indigenous people. As senior producer on the show, I worked with the reporters to turn their months of reporting into a compelling narrative. I also did boots-on-the-ground reporting alongside them, accompanying them to Montana to meet Christy’s family, interview the then tribal President and cover Christy’s trial in federal court.
